Basic principles on the budget, the work-plan, EC project management and evaluation
Objective : The aim of this class is to offer a general overview of some of the most relevant instruments and principles related to EC Project Cycle Management: the budget, the work-plan, project management rules, evaluation techniques and criteria.
Main target group: NGOs, including foundations and associations, trade unions and public sector (universities) as well as consulting companies working in development cooperation projects may be interested in this class. Independent consultants already working in the field may require an update as well as international grant-makers may be willing to set/revise criteria for selection of projects and allocation of funds as well as improve internal evaluation. Experience and knowledge in international development cooperation are not requested.
Structure: This class provides concrete examples, with the aid of filled-in tables on the budget and the work-plan. It addresses evaluation criteria in detail (i.e. relevance, efficiency, effectiveness, impact and sustainability) as well as it mentions different evaluation techniques (i.e. ex ante, ROM etc.). Larger space is given to project management rules and principles.
